The North American hip hop festival Rolling Loud will debut in Portugal next summer after failing to do so in 2020, and already has its line-up full of superstars.
In the United States they are very much about doing everything the big way, and if we mix that with hip hop, you get Rolling Loud. This festival has been held for years in different parts of the country and is characterized by always having a line up with the greatest exponents of the genre.
The 2020 edition was already promising with American artists that are very rare in Europe. While many European festivals are still not sure if they will still exist next year, Rolling Loud 2021 is well confirmed. A$ap Rocky, Travis Scott, Future, and Wiz Khalifa are the 3 main names of a festival that will never have enough room for all its headliners.
Rolling Loud will take place at Praia da Rocha in Portimão, Portugal. We already know most of the artists that will constitute the lineup, although they have assured that there are still confirmations to come.
The festival will take place from Tuesday, July 6 to Sunday, July 11, 2021. The man nicknamed "La Flame" – Travis Scott -, will be the headliner of the event and will take the stage on Saturday, July 10. Organizers have put together a top-notch line-up for the six days of concerts: Travis Scott, A$AP Rocky, Cardi B, Future, Wiz Khalifa, Young Thug, DaBaby, Lil Uzi Vert, Rae Sremmurd, Gucci Mane and Meek Mill (and many more) will also be on stage in the small town of Portimao, which is definitely not ready for what's about to happen.
A$AP Rocky is today one of the most sought-after artists on the world's urban scene, an artist who has influenced many others with his music. Future continues to reach new levels year after year. This with his album "High Off Life" has been one of the most talked about artists, as well as for his hit with Drake "Life Is Good". Finally, we have Wiz Khalifa, a living legend with a bag of hits at his back and who is still very active today.
Rolling Loud, which presents itself as "the biggest hip-hop festival in the world", seems to want to mark the spirits with its very first European edition. The event, initially based in Miami, exists since 2014. Since its launch, it has been exported to other American cities such as Los Angeles, Oakland or New York.
In the rest of the line-up we find artists for all tastes. Some of them have recently gotten famous like Jack Harlow or Lil Durk, there is also a representation of the drill genre with Chief Keef, and even a Spanish representation with Aleesha.
Another great attraction is the beautiful spot of Praia da Rocha, belonging to the tourist area of the Algarve, where hip hop will resonate in a whole party of real madness.
The first tickets for Rolling Loud are already on sale, although, the maintenance of these XXL festivities will depend on the evolution of the sanitary situation. Cancellations and postponements of events related to the Covid-19 epidemic have been multiplying for months and the live show sector is at its worst. Legendary festivals, such as the one in Glastonbury, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, do not yet know if they will be able to welcome their public next summer.
We also recommend that you keep an eye out for the missing confirmations. What do you think of this approach to American urban culture and European cave culture?
