Today, I am joined by Cisco, a new emerging artist from the GUNGANS band, a group of young artists like him from Haut-de-Seine in France!
He will answer several questions that fit perfectly with the theme of the blog

First, introduce yourself
It's Cisco from the group GUNGANS. You can find us on all platforms, youtube, SoundCloud, Spotify... I invite you to listen to all our tapes, 4 EP's are out!
How would you define your music?
To define our music, I would say that we experimented a little bit with rap in all sorts, we first made lo-fi oriented stuff, and then we did boom-bap and trap. There's something for every taste, and our music is constantly evolving, so there's no lack of inspiration: we have our own style.
Are social networks important for your artistic development?
Social networks are indeed important for the artistic development of a band, I would say that yes. Nowadays it's even essential to post on social networks and talk about one's daily life and artistic development in order to create a fan base and to be able to move forward, because if you have the talent but no one listens to your music, then the efforts are useless. But it also requires a lot of work, a lot of passion.
You say passion, in what way?
Artistic development, in a way, happens by itself, it is not the social networks that will bring this artistic development. But on the other hand, social networks are positive for the emergence of artists. It's almost as if it's the number one cause that allows artists to be known today, it becomes indispensable for artists like us. Even if it's not our "advertising technique", many artists are having huge success through recent youth applications like TikTok that stays in the head and accompanies choreographies, but this is not recent.
(The last article that was published on the website covers this exact theme and its history).
Do you think that social networks are a positive arrival to help emerging artists get known?
There are accounts on social networks such as Une Minute De Rap or Daymolition Official, which pushes artists towards a large audience and allows them to develop through this platform. Personally, I don't think it's very correct to have to go through a platform to get some buzz, but I'm not criticizing that, it's just the way it is, but I think that developing your own community and then posting songs: doing things independently is better. So yes, social networks are still essential for any artistic activity whether it's music, painting, or any other ...
